Appointments can be booked up to 3 weeks in advance and we run a daily surgery from 3.00-4.00 pm for patients who feel they must be seen the same day.  Our telephone lines are open from 8.00 am to 6.30 pm.

Practice nurses give flu vaccines to those aged over 65, or with long-term heart or lung problems, diabetes, liver or kidney disease

Other Services offered by the practice

Minor surgery
Doctors working at the surgery may undertake some minor surgical procedures. Patients must be referred by a GP and appointments are 15 minutes long. In some circumstances you may be advised to arrange for a friend or relative to drive you home afterwards.

Our practice nurses and doctors offer family planning advice. We can fit coils and prescribe emergency contraception at the surgery. If you require emergency contraception please request an urgent appointment.

Travel Advice
Advice and immunisations are available through the practice nurses. Please book an appointment at least 6 weeks before you are due to travel. There may be a charge for some immunisations and anti-malarial medications.  stop smoking

Smoking Cessation and Weight Loss
Advice, support and nicotine replacement therapy are available through the practice nurses.

Acupuncture
Dr Magnusson and Dr Tyler offer this service. Appointments are limited and referral is via a GP. Each session lasts for 20 minutes and takes place during surgery hours. You will be asked to give written consent before treatment and you may need someone to drive you home after the first session.

Smear Tests
These are recommended every five years in women aged 20 to 65 years. A doctor or a practice nurse can do them. Please ensure that if you are booking for a smear test with a doctor you ask for a double appointment.

Ultrasound
Ultrasound therapy is available for some muscle and joint problems. Referrals can be made through a doctor or a practice nurse.

Lung Function Testing
We have facilities for lung function testing in the surgery. This is an important tool used to assess patients with chronic lung diseases including asthma. Referrals for lung function testing are made through your GP.
