Repeat Prescriptions

Order Your Repeat Prescriptions Online

Patients on regular medication may be given computerised repeat prescription forms. When you have only one week’s supply left, post or bring your form to the Surgery.

Please allow 4 working days for this to be processed.

If you enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope the new prescription will be sent to you, but please allow 7 working days.

Prescriptions can also be:

  • Faxed on 0118 9439448
  • Posted either via Royal Mail or put through our letter box
  • Dropped into the Repeat Box in the Surgery entrance

Repeat prescriptions requests will not be taken over the telephone.

In-house Pharmacist

Our in-house Pharmacist (Ida) can assist you with medication queries and can also be seen for routine medication reviews. These reviews are initially completed online and any follow-up appointments can be dealt with by either Ida or your GP.

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

Please visit the NHS Choices website for up-to-date prescription fees.

If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC. Telephone advice and order line 0845 850 0030. Alternatively you can Buy or Renew a PPC Online.

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines.  Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
